Coding For Kids, ages 7 to 10, 10-11:30am, Cost $30

*Participants require a laptop

Would you like to see your child shift from using technology only for playing, watching, and chatting to creating, designing, and programming? This workshop will introduce children to some basic coding concepts that will not only excite them, but will also encourage creativity and point to new ways of solving complex problems. Using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, they will be able to apply these new skills to create their first simple apps and games. Because the world of programming is so vast and engaging, this workshop may be just the beginning of a long journey...

Please send your child with a laptop computer.

Why should your child learn to program? It's fun!

There has never been a more exciting time to learn to program. The tools available are easy to use, super engaging, and focused around fun.

It's creative!

Once kids understand the basic concepts of programming, their imaginations can run wild as they are then able to create their own apps, games, mods, music, and more.

It makes you smarter!

Learning to program improves the way you think by showing you new ways of solving problems, testing theories, and thinking abstractly.

It can lead to an exciting and high-paying career!

Programmers are in short supply and there is a growing demand for programmers around the world. Oh, and programmers are well-paid too.

We acknowledge, recognize, and respect that we live, work, learn and play within the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the  Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
