Earth Day 2017 Celebrations, Saturday April 22, 10am to 5pm

  • Saturday, April 22, 2017
  • 10:00 - 17:00
  • Outside, Lobby, Studio and Gwen Shea Hall

The Village of Wakefield again celebrates Earth Day on Saturday April 22.

This year, Wakefield’s Earth Day is bigger and better, offering all ages an exciting Green Market and an Environmental Fair. Wakefield’s  unique blend of family fun, local food vendors and handmade crafts  items is intertwined with  activities and exhibits to engage and inspire all ages - tiny houses and electric cars; CO₂ cutting workshops; artistry, poetry and song; a green builders’ circle;  tree-climbing for kids; a speakers’ corner; and nature activities. Participants from afar are urged to carpool and to park-and-ride on the free bus shuttle, and those from nearby may choose to come on foot, by bike, canoe or skateboard. (There’s an awesome skate park on site, too, for riding after visiting the Fair.) And of course, delicious, healthy local snacks will be available.

Sponsors: Chambre Wakefield-LaPêche Chamber; ACRE- Action Chelsea pour le respect de l'environnement,  Pharmacie Sébastien Aubin et Nadine LaCasse, the Municipality of La Pêche and the Municipality of Chelsea.

We acknowledge, recognize, and respect that we live, work, learn and play within the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the  Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
