Fairies and Elves Ballet (6-8yrs): Sun/Dim 9:30-10:30

Age: 6-8

Do you have a  dancer who is not quite ready for the strictness of a proper ballet class, but feels too old for or is wanting more than just a Creative Movement class? If so, then Fairy Ballet is perfect for them. We will learn some of the basic positions of the feet and arms and a few foundation steps and exercises from ballet. We will also listen to classical music from some of the more well known ballets and talk about how the music is just as important as the steps we dance. There will also be time for free movement within that classical music to let the children play with how the music moves them and explore on their own the positions and exercises we will be learning. It is meant to be a gentle introduction for those who express an interest in learning ballet, but who aren’t ready for the strict discipline that usually accompanies it. We will foster the love of movement that often draws young children to ballet, while working on coordination, flexibility, self confidence, and musicality.
