    Write Night

    7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

    Write Night Writers

Our monthly sessions are free and generally run from Sept to May. No experience necessary. Everyone 15 and older is welcome. Just bring a notebook, a favorite pen and your sense of playful curiosity.

Write Nights are informal and relaxed gatherings to come and play with words. We do a series of short, timed writing exercises that get our creative juices flowing. We occasionally pause to read out loud, always optional. Discussions and resources ideas are shared as well.

We are currently experimenting with holding two sessions a month:

In person: the SECOND Tuesday of the month from 7 – 8:30 PM in our lovely library, housed here in Centre Wakefield-La Pêche.

Online: the LAST Tuesday of the month from 7 – 8:30 PM (ET) via Zoom.

    Write Night Materials

Contact Linda to be put on the Write Night email list to receive the Zoom link and any related communication.

Do you have a favourite prompt or exercise to share?  Let Linda know if you would like to join our small pool of Write Night facilitators.

Keep your eye open for pop up writing workshops and talks too. Typically these are held on a weekend. There is a fee to help pay the instructor, rental and advertising expenses.

Many thanks to the support we receive from this treasure we call the Wakefield-La Pêche Library.

Looking forward to writing with you!

Through field experience, participants will learn some local species and gain insight into their behaviour. Format: one classroom session and three field trips at area locations. There may be rain dates for severe weather. If there are more than 8 participants, we may create 2 groups over 2 days. You will need to bring a pair of binoculars.

    • Be part of the area birding community

5Rhythms Dance Workshop with Sarah Blagg

A time to honour the sun & the sun’s cycles inside of us through dance. Beginners and dance lovers are welcome. No experience necessary, just a willingness to move.

5Rhythms are a simple yet profound map that serve as a reminder of what nourishes and lifts each of us up. Life may bring change that may not be our choice or move at a slower pace than we feel is really needed. The dancer inside of us follows the simplicity of movement and the breath that rekindles our hearts & spirits. Dance weaves magic that strengthens & brings more balance, faith & trust.

Book by April 1st and pay $260; after April 1st the price is $290. Friday evening only: $40.

To book : email Sarah Monica at be.dance@live.ca or call 613-853-1148.
